‘In the past, like Paganini, he would have been called a son of the devil,’

The New York Times wrote in admiration of Swedish clarinet player and conductor Martin Fröst. He raised clarinet virtuosity to an unparalleled level and knows how to combine his excellence with conducting an orchestra. His conducting the South Netherlands Philharmonic is testimony to the orchestra’s high quality. Fröst brings with him his own arrangements of Telemann and Vivaldi, is the stellar soloist in Weber’s First Clarinet Concerto, and tops it all off with Beethoven. It’s already a memorable concert.
