Joop Celis is a Dutch concert pianist who can call on international fame for his unique CD recordings of music by York Bowen, a by now not so unknown 20th century English composer. You can expect something special from such an adventurous musician. Joop Celis is a principal subject teacher of piano at the Maastricht Conservatory and at the Lemmens Campus of Luca-arts in Leuven. In addition to solo recitals, Celis gave master classes in the Netherlands, Belgium, Suriname, Portugal and various Asian countries. He is also a much sought-after jury member at various competitions, such as the Princess Christina Competition and the Steinway Competition.
