What is dance without movement? Which words do you choose for a song without guidelines or vocals? How do you express this in a composition for a saxophone quartet?
The Maat Saxophone Quartet put these questions on a lecturn and chose pieces that focus on dance and song. Not literally, the effect comes to life in the minds of the listeners. When the music blowd over into a cloud of poetry and dance, then the mission of the Maat Saxophone Quartet has succeeded. A custom lighting scheme could result in a light hallucinatory experience.
The jury on the Maat Saxophone Quartet: ‘They speak the same language, literally and musically! Technically of extremely high level, organic cooperation and an amazingly tight presentation.Their program is original and tantalizing, you want to keep listening.'
