Widmann in perspectief
Nadezda Filippova, Lars Wouters van den Oudenweijer, Anna Lipkind-Mazor

Jörg Widmann is one of those people who can do everything: he is one of the best clarinet players of his generation, conducts the largest orchestras and is one of the composers of the moment. Widmann claims his music is always inspired by classical-romance composers. Those pieces are exciting, full of modern techniques and bordering atonal.
In this concert you will hear his most beautiful music for clarinet, violin and piano. When you hear the thrilling Fünf Bruchstucke for clarinet and piano, it becomes difficult to imagine the moving trio Tränen der Musen is composed by the same composer. And then there is the large Sommersonate for violin and piano: a piece with enormous expressiveness.
Three specialists in modern music will be performing this concert. Two highly skilled Russian musicians who have found their second homes in the Netherlands, and a top of the line clarinet player, brave enough to make his instrument sing, as well as be vulnerable and passionate. Be surprised by the music of Jörg Widmann.
