Violinist Gwendolyn Masin and pianist Caspar Vos take you to the roaring twenties of the 20th century. An exciting period in which jazz and classical music had a swinging dialogue.
Exciting music from the roaring twenties
George Gershwin came to Paris to be taught by Ravel and Darius Milhaud went to America where Dave Brubeck became his star student. This is a wonderful program full of exciting music. Perfect for these brilliant musicians. You will hear Gershwin's world-famous hits Summertime and It Ain't Necessarily So, Ravel's version of the blues and Milhaud's fantasy on Le boeuf sur le toit. It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing! Duke Ellington already announced it.
