The Dutch reed quintet Calefax opens doors to the rich music culture of old Persia. Together with authentic Iranian percussion and reed flute, it immerses us in Persian timbres and creates new crossovers between Eastern and Western music.
In Sufism, an inexhaustible source for classical song lyrics about Persian wisdom and mysticism, Calefax finds surprising inspiration. The musicians redesign this cultural heritage and create their own enchanting atmosphere in collaboration with designer Theun Mosk. Song of the Reed is a musical journey of discovery for the senses.
Calefax broadens his horizons in this collaboration with the Iranian classic star singer Mohammad Motamedi.
