Widmann in perspectief
Nadezda Filippova, Lars Wouters van den Oudenweijer, Anna Lipkind-Mazor

Jörg Widmann is the kind of person who can do everything: he is one of the best clarinetists of his generation, conducts the greatest orchestras and he is one of the composers of the moment.
In his own words, Widmann is always in conversation with classical-romantic composers in his music. These are exciting conversations with contemporary techniques and on the edge of atonality.
In this concert you will hear his most beautiful music for clarinet, violin and piano. When you hear the exciting Fünf Bruchstucke for clarinet and piano, you can hardly imagine that the compelling trio Tränen der Musen is by the same composer. And then the great Sommersonata for violin and piano: a work with enormous expressive power.
Three specialists in contemporary music will perform this concert. Two gifted Russian musicians who have found their second home in the Netherlands and a top clarinetist who dares to let his instrument sing, but also to be fragile and passionate. Be surprised by the music of Jörg Widmann.
