Cold Hawaii
Sigrid Stigsdatter Mathiassen

So she retreats. She explores the vast emptiness, the territory of pleasure and the realm of pause and silence after something breaking down. Like a heartbreak that builds up only to breakdown again, she creates a character that rises only to disappear afterwards. Through movement, sound and words she moves between the harsh reality, and the soft, worlds of her imagination.
In the dunes of Cold Hawaii, a lonesome body is caught in a constantly moving body wave. It leaks and spills sounds, voice and movements. Weaving in and out of each other, it becomes a bodyscape, sending out vibrations form a broken heart, seeking pleasure and pause.
In Cold Hawaii, Sigrid layers text, movement and sound and aims to find the places where they cross and meet. How do they become the same and yet again different?
