From November, Conny Janssen Danst will be bringing HOME back to the stage: a remake of the successful dance performance from 2017 about people looking for their place in the world and with each other. With the corona pandemic on the retina, the concept of 'home' takes on a new meaning and the performance is perhaps even more topical than ever.
HOME revolves around the question of what 'home' means. It is often more than stones, more than a physical space. What makes you feel at home, where are you at home? Is it a place, the people around you, or is it a sense of belonging?
In addition to a large, adventurous ensemble of dancers – young talents and famous faces – Conny Janssen works for HOME with live music and works by soundscape artist Michel Banabila and cellist Maarten Vos specially composed for the performance .
“As is often the case in my work, HOME is about the human being in relation to the other and how we relate to that other. I think we are who we are because of, with, in spite of and because of that other. That has both a personal and a social side.” – Conny Janssen

'... fascinated by the subtlety with which she allows all individuals to shine simultaneously within in the whole. [...] The attention to detail in Home is admirable and enriches the language of the movement. That clarity is a great strength.'
