Kites
Roshanak Morrowatian

Kites is an interdisciplinary dance performance that takes the demarcated space of an asylum seekers center as its starting point.
Growing up in a transition space between past and future, isolated from society, is a central theme. Roshanak Morrowatian shares with Kites a world of dreams from the eyes and perspectives of children. She processed her own experiences and conversations with children with a similar past through images, memories and flashbacks in the performance. She investigates the physical traces of flight, fear, and the desire to belong (belonging).
With the concept for Kites, Roshanak won the Prize of the Nederlandse Dansdagen Maastricht during the Nederlandse Dansdagen 2020. This performance will premiere during the Nederlandse Dansdagen 2021.
After the performance from 13:30 – 14:30 there is a talk with Roshanak at 14:40.
