'By sharing my personal nakedness.... I can truly give. A story that breaks through the boundaries of our manufactured reality, that looks beyond mere form. For the true form is the outward expression of the inner content.'
Dance is the language of the soul. It makes no sound, it is silent, but at the same time it says so much. You are sitting in the theater, it is slowly getting dark... The music starts, the lights come on and a dancer moves in the space like a brush on a painting, like a pen on a white sheet of paper. The dancer takes you into the story. The story of the choreographer, the story of the dancer and the story of the spectator at the same time.
Isabelle reveals her naked truth!
After a lifetime of choreographing, Isabelle Beernaert has developed her very own unique contemporary dance language. And for this very special edition of the new performance Naakt-Nuda Veritas, Isabelle reveals for the first time the meaning of that language and what drove her to create this piece. Through the choreography, performed by her dancers and the explanations of Isabelle herself, you will be taken even deeper into the story of Naked Nuda Veritas. The mysteries of Isabelle Beernaert's dance language, unraveled, for once. Isabelle reveals her naked truth!
Isabelle Beernaert received a fundamental classical and technical foundation through her training at the Royal Ballet School of Flanders. Besides her classical background, Isabelle developed herself in modern techniques such as Martha Graham, Lester Horton, Limon and Matt Mattox. She also became proficient in ethnic dances such as Spanish, Bulgarian, Indian and African, which she combines with current knowledge of modern styles such as Hip Hop, Breakdance and so on. Isabelle worked as a choreographer with and for several (inter)national events and TV shows including the international TV hit: So You Think You Can Dance.
