Simin Tander Quartet
German-Afghan singer Simin Tander is a unique figure in the European jazz landscape. She is notable for her enormous variation in timbres and expressions, and for her free approach to language.
With perhaps the most beautiful voice on the European jazz scene, the German-Afghani Simin Tander exhibits an enormous variety of timbres and expressions. Her enchanting and expressive repertoire builds bridges between western jazz and arabesque vocal flights where she navigates between rich songwriting and freely improvised textures.
Her voice has not gone unnoticed in the Netherlands either. She could be heard at the North Sea Jazz Festival before and through her collaboration with Eric Vloeimans she already caused a furore.
With her new quartet, consisting of top musicians from jazz, world and classical music, Tander explores as a band leader an unspoiled musical landscape of lyrical and refreshing contemporary sounds and textures, recorded on the album 'Unfading' that will be presented at the end of 2020.
