De Nederlandse reisopera adapts Puccini's favorite opera about young people and their impetuous and impossible love into a 75-minute pocket opera.
La Bohème is about a group of young free-spirited artists: the poet Rodolfo, the painter Marcello and the philosopher Schaunard. They live together in a apartment in Paris, but can't even afford to pay the heating. At their first meeting, Rodolfo falls in love with his sick neighbor Mimì. They have a stormy affair, but due to her illness, Rodolfo breaks off the relationship. He asks her to find a rich lover who can support her.
Marcello and his girlfriend, the seductive man-guzzler Musetta, are bickering in a passionate and amusing on-again, off-again relationship. Eventually Rodolfo and his lover find each other again, but is that still in time for the terminally ill Mimì?
Timeless and irresistible love story about a number of high-spirited bohemians and the devastation caused by the tragic death of one of them.
