The American-Dutch Laura Jansen is not only a singer-songwriter, she is also an enormously inspiring storyteller. She is returning to the stage, solo, accompanying herself on piano and taking you along with her large assortment of stories and experiences. She sings famous songs such as Use Somebody, Wicked World and Bells, as well as songs from her new album We Saw A Light. Theatre is the ideal place for Laura to share her music and stories from the heart with the audience, in an intimate way.
Laura Jansen is back in theatres
After returning from an international worldtour in 2015, Laura Jansen's life undergoes an unexpected twist, when on a random night she volunteers to care for refugees on Amsterdam's Central Station. This quickly leads to a trip to Greek island Lesbos during the peak of the refugee crisis, where she ends up staying not for 10 days, but for 3 years.
After 3 years full of hard work, loss, hope and despair in the refugee camps there, she starts her journey back to the 'normal' world. Back to herself and her love for words, music and humanity. A journey of falling and getting up, rediscovery of her own existence and a journey to find the words and music to tell stories again.
