The theatre sector is forced to cancel performances as part of the national measures relating to the corona virus. To make it as clear as possible, we have listed the communication of Theater aan het Vrijthof regarding the coronavirus below.

At the national press conference on April 21, Prime Minister Rutte announced that the national measures will be extended. All events, meetings and performances cannot take place until September 1, 2020.
Following the measures taken by the Dutch government, the traditional open air concerts of André Rieu, at the Vrijthof square in Maastricht cannot take place in July 2020. André Rieu and his organisation have therefore decided to move the planned concerts to the first three weekends of July, 2021. Your ticket remains valid and we will guarantee a seat for you at the concerts in 2021.

After consulting various organizations in the cultural sector, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Authority for Consumers & Markets, a new national arrangement has been drawn up that offers solutions for you as a ticket holder. This ticket scheme focuses on preserving the value of the ticket and thus the value for the cultural sector. With ‘Save your ticket, enjoy later’, the cultural sector is hoping that you, as a ticket holder, would like to postpone your visit to our theatre until the moment we can re-open our doors. This national measure to combat the Covid-19 virus (Corona virus) is necessary to ensure that as many people as possible remain safe and healthy. Your health is paramount. It is with great regret, that we have to inform you that all performances until June 1, 2020 are cancelled.
Our Governement has taken new measures against the Covid-19 virus (Corona Virus). As a result, all performances at Theater aan het Vrijthof until March 31, 2020 are cancelled. Theater aan het Vrijthof follows the guidelines and advice of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
