Toneelgroep Maastricht

Toneelgroep Maastricht is one of the major national theatre companies, the theatre company of Maastricht and the partnered theatre company of Theater aan het Vrijthof. The image of humanity is central to Toneelgroep Maastricht's performances, and that image is positive, despite the spirit of the times.

The company is led by Michel Sluysmans and Frans Hendrickx. Director Servé Hermans develops his own performances under the wing of the company, and Zorba Huisman is undergoing a talent development programme. Toneelgroep Maastricht aims to be a company that Limburg is proud of and that the Netherlands and Flanders remain curious about.

Toneelgroep Maastricht produces large-scale touring productions for theatres and smaller productions for the Bordenhal and “flat floor” theatres. Plays from the world repertoire are interspersed with newly written productions. Especially for Limburg, the company produces at least one (location) performance per year on a Limburg theme, with which they are present in the various urban regions of Limburg.
