Schumann en Schubert
Ronald Brautigam (piano)
Ronald Brautigam is one of the leading Dutch pianists of his generation, an authority in the classical and early-romantic repertoire who also does not shy away from a foray into more modern works. His impressive discography is proof of this, with his acclaimed integral Beethoven sonatas on pianoforte being just one highlight. The Edison Classical Oeuvre Prize and Concertgebouw Medal Brautigam received in 2024 - he turned 70 that year - were a logical crowning achievement. In Maastricht, he delves into the restless music of Robert Schumann at the height of his powers, with Arabesque and the Kreisleriana. Franz Schubert's Impromptus D 935 provide a more introverted counterpart.
