Somnium al Salaam - Dream of Peace will be premiered during the Heiligdomsvaart 2025. This triptych composition composed by Gerard Beljon for Studium Chorale, brings together Western and Eastern voices in a musical plea for peace.

Languages such as Arabic, Persian, Latin, Hebrew and Spanish flow together and transcend the spoken word; this is where emotion speaks. Inspired by the tragedies in Afghanistan and other wars, the singers express loss, hope and connection. Together, a western guitar, an eastern flute and a baroque choir pave a musical path to light and peace.

Listen, feel and recognise the universal dream: peace for all.

The opening piece will be the Requiem by city composer Hans Leenders, a multi-part composition on the Proprium texts of the Gregorian Requiem. The final movement In Paradisum forms a symbolic bridge to the concluding part of Beljon's Somnium al Salaam.
