Neon Dance

A future human race is on the brink of extinction. Virtually all that remains in the world are lonely and surreal monuments, sending their message into the wilderness. The last humans make contact with us, the first humans, and tell their story. They not only offer their help, but also ask us for help.

Based on Olaf Stapledon's groundbreaking 1930 novel, Last and First Men was the culmination of Icelandic composer Jóhann Jóhannsson's inspiring career. Neon Dance presents a stunning and unique contemporary dance performance set against the backdrop of Jóhannsson's 16mm black-and-white film, with commentary by Tilda Swinton and the original score composed by Jóhannsson and Yair Elazar Glotman.
