Samir Calixto

The Rozenkrans Sonates are considered the most important work of 17th-century composer Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber. The monumental work is considered a highlight of Baroque music, which forever pushed the boundaries of the violin.

As always with Samir Calixto, this performance is about collectively living through a penetrating total theater experience that connects dancers, musicians and spectators. The two-hour cycle - consisting of fifteen violin sonatas and a passacaglia for violin solo - will be performed in its full length by a top chamber music ensemble led by renowned violinist and conductor Shunske Sato.
