Tangoles voor mensen met Parkinson

Tango para todos

Tango para Todos is a new initiative that aims to bring the joy and benefits of Argentine tango to people with Parkinson's disease.

The workshop presented during the Nederlandse Dansdagen is aimed at people with Parkinson's and anyone who wants to learn more about this topic. It is seen as an opportunity to experience an introduction to this dance style in an inclusive and friendly environment.

Meet your teachers
The workshop will be led by Kathinka Poismans – tango teacher, professional musician and music therapist – together with Marika Meoli – professional dancer, tango dancer and dance and movement therapist. Together, they bring a wealth of expertise in both dance and therapeutic practices, ensuring a supportive experience for all participants.

What to expect and practical information
Participants are encouraged to come with their partner, friend or family member. In Argentine tango, each couple consists of a leader and a follower, but the roles are flexible and can be chosen based on comfort.

In this workshop, we will give an introduction to the basics of tango, with an emphasis on movement vocabulary, rhythm and connection.

We recommend wearing clothing that allows freedom of movement and comfortable, well-fitting shoes.

Continue your tango journey
For those who want to explore Argentine tango further, we are happy to offer a follow-up course. Starting in November, participants can take part in a free 10-week tango course in Maastricht. By the end of the course, participants will have a basic understanding of tango and be able to dance independently.
