Piazzolla & More
Cuarteto Rotterdam

Tango, that's old music gathering dust and repeating itself over and over again. Astor Piazzolla thought something like that about traditional tango music, which is why he wrote his Tango Nuevo. This gave rise to completely new tango music, much to the chagrin of many tango lovers who could not cope with the new sounds.
The opposite happened with Cuarteto Rotterdam: they found their way to tango through Piazzolla's music. They prove that traditional tango music has by no means become unfashionable and show what music from Argentina has to offer the listener in the 21st century. Icons like Astor Piazzolla, Carlos Gardel and Osvaldo Pugliese dance along with contemporary composers like Pablo Murgier, Pablo Jaurena and Ramiro Boero. Cuarteto Rotterdam was founded in 2004 during the members' joint tango studies at the Rotterdam conservatory.
