10 jaar philharmonie zuidnederland! Let’s celebrate together! Deeply tied to the orchestra's DNA are the French sophistication and sensual timbres that shine in Ravel's Daphnis et Chloé. The prelude to a crazy adventure with one of the fastest rising stars in the classical world, South African cellist and musical all-rounder Abel Selaocoe. Singing and bowing, he mixes his African roots with classical sounds in the Celloconcert he composed especially for our orchestras anniversary. Swinging, we move on to Rachmaninov's Symphonic Dansen, led by our proud British chief conductor Duncan Ward. The final masterpiece, full of melancholy, dramatic contrasts and symphonic brilliance. This anniversary concert will be one of the first unforgettable moments of happiness in philharmonie zuidnederland's new season.
