Three renowned conservatoires - Aachen, Maastricht and Liege - are embarking on a new collaboration. Their first official project will take place in Maastricht, where students from the conservatoires will perform together under the direction of leading conductor Arjan Tien, also a teacher at the Conservatorium Maastricht.
Mahler's ‘Tragic’ Symphony is one of the composer's most dramatic and emotionally charged works. The symphony consists of four movements and ends with a riveting finale of almost 30 minutes. This final movement contains the infamous ‘hammer blows of fate’, symbolising the inescapable forces of fate. With its complex orchestration and profound emotional charge, Mahler's Symphony No 6 presents a formidable challenge for performers and an unforgettable experience for audiences.
