Barbara Strozzi: portret in vijf akten
Hathor Consort & Dorothee Mields & Hana Blažíková

In Venice in 1650, Barbara Strozzi defied all conventions. The virtuoso singer fought her way to a successful career as a composer without any financial support. Her secret weapon: sublime songs.
Today, Strozzi is recognized as one of the most talented and prolific composers of her time. Hathor Consort brings her portrait to life with the voices of Dorothee Mields and Hana Blažíková, who shine in Strozzi's arias and duets. Both sopranos have already made a name for themselves with various CD recordings: Mields with Purcell and Monteverdi, Blažíková sang under John Eliot Gardiner in Monteverdi's Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria. Hathor Consort was founded in 2012 by Romina Lischka. Under her artistic direction, the consort is dedicated to Renaissance and Baroque music in which a string ensemble of viols plays a central role.
