During the Nederlandse Dansdagen, a major exhibition will take place in the former Stercollege on the Grote Gracht, featuring 24 video installations on the themes of protest and public action, which have taken on new relevance in a disruptive and polarised society.

The initiative of the Maastricht-based organisation ViewMaster Projects draws attention to the different ways in which artists translate emotion and energy to another platform and add new layers of meaning to public action. This artistic processing is also visible in a growing number of dance films, in which protest is translated into the body and movement. The Nederlandse Dansdagen and Cinedans present a programme with striking examples of the diversity with which this is done.
