Er begint iets te spelen...
PRA Muziektheater X Nederlandse Dansdagen

There is a web of invisible threads that connects everything and everyone. And if you look closely, you can see a glow emanating from the threads. When the music plays, they glow and vibrate.
Music is a heart that knows everything.
Dance glows, touches and connects.
Even if you stand still,
even if you hear or see nothing,
body language never lies,
the body reveals.
The audience is carried away by the power of the performers. They are of all ages and seem to merge with each other. The performance gets under your skin, into your soul, and boundaries disappear. The movement and the silence take you away, and you end up somewhere else. A collective awareness emerges: we don't need to be afraid to be open to others.
Young and old become involved in the ups and downs of more vulnerable groups and in cultural activities in Maastricht. All the different groups come together in one composition. Where the universal language of music and dance takes centre stage. Where individuality is celebrated and where you can be yourself. Based on the principles of improvisation and discovery, the performance remains a surprise for everyone. Each group has its own input. In this crossover of dance and music, all the parts merge in a wonderful way. The audience sits around the stage and thus becomes part of the whole. This relationship also always has an element of unpredictability. It promises to be a performance where surprise, equality, encounter and community spirit take centre stage.
Er begint iets te spelen... creates a cross-pollination between people from Maastricht, healthcare and cultural institutions: children from Adelante Tyltylschool De Maasgouw, elderly people from Envida and Sevagram residential care centres, residents of the Maastricht neighbourhoods of Caberg and Nazareth, and students from Dansatelier and Kumulus Music School. No fewer than 50 participants will soon be on stage in this unique production by dansWEB of Nederlandse Dansdagen and PRA Muziektheater.
