Liszt Utrecht

Liszt Utrecht (formerly Liszt Concours) is an international piano festival dedicated to the music of Franz Liszt. It is known worldwide as one of the most prestigious competitions for young piano talents. This year's jury includes big names such as Severin von Eckardstein, Alexander Gavrylyuk, and Mariam Batsashvili (laureate of the 2014 edition).

During this concert, you will meet the three brand-new laureates of the competition, who will not only be playing Liszt. Each edition of the competition has a different composer as its theme. The last edition was dedicated to Schubert; this time, Carl Maria von Weber takes center stage. Not an illogical choice: Liszt was an admirer of Von Weber's works and regularly performed them during his concerts.
