Marcel Verheggen

Organist Marcel Veheggen opens Componistendag 2026: Iberia with works by Correa de Arauxo, Bruna, Cabézon, Rodrigues Coelho, Conceição, and others.

Marcel Verheggen is organist at the Sint Servaasbasiliek in Maastricht. In addition to his work as a church musician, he gives many (inter)national concerts. He has won several prizes at international competitions, both for interpretation and improvisation. Marcel teaches at the Conservatorium Maastricht, gives masterclasses nationally and internationally, and is an advisor to the Bell and Organ Council.
