English composer Joby Talbot creates a musical pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in his 17-voice masterpiece Path of Miracles. Each part of this impressive choral work captures the essence of the journey, inspired by the diverse landscapes, physical trials and spiritual insights the pilgrims gain along the way. From the sombre lamentations about the endless, monotonous road and the burning heat, to the suspicion towards a deceitful innkeeper, Cappella Amsterdam's choir takes you through the many facets of the journey. But the joy of reaching the final destination is also beautifully expressed.
