To mark his 10th anniversary as a performing arts photographer, Sjoerd Derine presents the exhibition Kairos – an ode to the right moment. In collaboration with the Nederlandse Dansdagen, Sjoerd Derine shows a carefully curated selection of his most striking and powerful images from the past decade. These images capture dance and its soul.

Coming from the world of dance and theatre, Sjoerd Derine knows better than anyone how to capture fleeting moments of expression and movement. His work is imbued with rhythm, emotion and timing – a visual translation of the Greek concept of Kairos: that one decisive moment when everything comes together. 

Sjoerd Derine's photographs are not mere records, but encounters. Moments of dance that are not only visible, but also tangible. With this anniversary exhibition, he invites the public to recognize Kairos and perhaps even seize it for themselves.
