Metropole Orkest, conducted by Jules Buckley, pays tribute to Aretha Franklin. Together with the talented singer Sheléa, the orchestra performs a compelling ode to her iconic repertoire, featuring classics such as Respect, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman and Think.
Aretha Franklin was one of the best-selling artists of all time and a cultural icon whose influence extended far beyond music. She won eight Grammys and was the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With songs such as Respect, she became a voice for the Civil Rights Movement and for women worldwide.
The vocal lead during the concerts is singer/songwriter Sheléa, who has been praised by greats such as Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones. Like Aretha, she grew up in Detroit as the daughter of a pastor and sang in church from an early age. Her deep connection with Aretha's music makes her the perfect interpreter of this repertoire.
This tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the legacy of Aretha Franklin in a powerful, renewed orchestral form, performed by one of the world's most versatile orchestras.
