Seat selection
Here you will find information about choosing seats for our performances. If you have a question that we have not answered here, please contact the UITbalie.
What are the different seating categories in the theatre?
For most performances in the Papyruszaal at Theater aan het Vrijthof, you can choose from three categories: Band B, Band A and Premium. Premium seats are located in rows 4 and 12 and in rows 1 and 2 of the balcony. Band B seats are located in row 12 of the balcony. In other theatre halls/at other locations, we do not use a category system (with some exceptions).
Can I choose my own seats for a performance?
In theatre halls with numbered seats, you can almost always choose your own seat(s). Click on the 'Tickets' button on the performance page. If it is possible to choose your own seats, a seating plan will appear where you can select your seat(s). It is not possible to choose your own seats for performances at external locations, such as the Sint Janskerk, Cellebroederskapel and Kumulus. For these performances, you can select the desired number of seats, but not the desired place of the seats.
Why can't I leave individual seats free when selecting seats on the seating plan?
This is to prevent empty seats from remaining, so that as many people as possible can attend the performance. If this prevents you from booking your desired seat(s) and no other seats are available, please contact the UITbalie.
Our seat numbers are not consecutive. Will we be sitting next to each other?
To facilitate access to the theatre, the Papyruszaal is divided into a left (odd) and right (even) section. For example, if your tickets state left section / row 1 / seats 1 and 3, you will be seated next to each other.
How do I order wheelchair seats for a performance?
Wheelchair spaces can only be reserved by telephone or at the UITbalie (box office). Due to the number of available wheelchair spaces, you may be asked for the measurements of your wheelchair. All theatre halls in Theater aan het Vrijthof and AINSI theatre are wheelchair accessible. For more information about wheelchair accessibility at other locations, please contact the UITbalie.
You are welcome to bring a companion to the performance free of charge upon presentation of the official OV-Begeleiderskaart. This also applies if you are unable to visit the theatre independently for other reasons and are in possession of an OV-Begeleiderskaart. Please contact the UITbalie for more information.
